Mr. O’Connell is an Associate Partner at The Townsend Group in Cleveland. His role includes portfolio modeling and analytics, market research, due diligence, and writing and reviewing investment recommendations to support the discretionary portfolio management team. He is also responsible for coverage of the open-ended funds universe, providing portfolio construction, investment research, due diligence and new fund underwriting, and investment recommendations to Townsend’s global client base.

Prior to joining The Townsend Group 2014, Mr. O’Connell worked for Red Stone Equity Partners, LLC as an Acquisitions Analyst, where he performed financial analysis, market analysis, origination, and underwriting of affordable housing real estate properties and participated in the acquisition and syndication of low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) investments nationwide.

Mr. O’Connell received his BA from Miami University and completed post-baccalaureate coursework at Cleveland State University. Mr. O’Connell was inducted into The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) in 2022.
